High Street toilets to remain open
Polegate Town Council has resolved to negotiate the purchase of the High Street toilets from Wealden District Council. PTC will rent the facility for a year whilst purchase negotiations are under way to ensure that the toilets remain open.

Changes to Concessionary Bus Passes
On the 1st April 2014 East Sussex County Council are changing the start time at which Concessionary Bus Pass holders can use their passes from 9:00am to 9:30am. For further details on this change, and for general information on Concessionary passes, click here and here

Polegate Town Council - grants available
Polegate-based charities are invited to request grants from the Council as per the Council policy, which can be viewed here. Applications should be made as soon as possible and in any event before the 15th March 2014.
Wealden's Dog Control Order
Click here to view Wealden District Council's Dog Control Order, which came into force on the 1st January 2014. The Order imposes penalties on dog owners who fail to clean up after their dogs on land within the Wealden District.

Polegate Town Council is seeking sponsorship of flowers and flowerbeds within the town. Please contact the Town Clerk on firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
Greenleaf development - latest
Knight Development Ltd have appealed against Wealden District Council's refusal to permit the Greenleaf Gardens development. To view the grounds for appeal and associated documents on Wealden's website click here
Two further responses have now been submitted by Polegate Town Council in objection to the appeal
The Council is aware that a large portion of the site has now been cleared of trees
Citizens Advice Bureau at Polegate
The CAB outreach service operates a Wednesday surgery every other week at Polegate Town Council offices.
The next surgery is scheduled to take place on Wednesday the 12th March 2014.

Roadworks in and around Polegate
A27 between the junction with the A2270 and Cophall Roundabout - replacement of street lighting columns, sign posts, sign lanterns and cable repair work. Work will be carried out nightly between 8pm and 6am from the 10th - 31st March inclusive, weather permitting. Lane closures and temporary traffic lights will be in operation during the works.
