Precept and budget setting 9th Jan 2017
Polegate Town Council has prudently increased the overall budget by only 0.55%. (£1806) Due to the ongoing reduction in local council tax support grant each year (reduction of £4543) and the cost increases in the contracts this means that the precept will be increasing by 2.04%. (£6349)
The BAND D council tax increase from £104.00 to £105.64, which is a bill increase of 1.57% only £1.64 per year (3 pence per week). The council actively continues to review projects and reserves to improve and maintain services whilst where possible reducing the ongoing costs to the residents. In line with the emerging business plan, staffing is planned to increase in line with the new projects and therefore costs have increased slightly, although offset by other savings made elsewhere.
