Private Car Park Polegate

The office receives numerous calls daily about the privately owned car park near the co-op in Polegate. The Town Council do not own the car park and it is privately run on behalf of the owner. Recently it appears that the car park managing company have transferred over to payments by phone.

New Mayor and Deputy for Polegate

Councillor Michael Clewett was elected as Town Mayor at the Annual Statutory Meeting on the 19th of May. Councillor Mrs Margaret Piper was elected Deputy Mayor.

Street Learning Courses

Street Learning, an intitiative from Eastbourne Homes in association with Places for People, Mears, Sussex Downs College and Wealden District Council, has a number of free courses open to Wealden and Eastbourne residents aged 19 and over.

Wealden Summer Activity Days

Wealden District Council will be holding its ever popular Summer Activity days at various venues across the District in July and August, starting at Wannock Recreation Ground, Polegate on the 30th July.

High Street toilets to remain open

Polegate Town Council has resolved to negotiate the purchase of the High Street toilets from Wealden District Council. PTC will rent the facility for a year whilst purchase negotiations are under way to ensure that the toilets remain open.

Citizens Advice Bureau at Polegate


The Citizens Advice Bureau operates a 'Skypereach' advice service at Polegate Children's Centre, Polegate Primary School, Oakleaf Drive, Polegate BN26 6PT, every Monday between 10:00am and 12:00pm.
